Xylocide
Composed of 660 porcelain discs connected by a black thread, Xylocide unfolds a gradient of colours from deep green to white. This slow and precise transition, from life to voidevokes, the disappearance of forests, devastated by fires, notably those of summer 2023 in Canada. The green fades into ashen tones, ending in white, a symbol of silence and absence. This chromatic verticality forms a fragile, suspended memorial, a meditation on destroyed beauty and the lingering trace of what was once alive.
The Porcelain Weavings series explores porcelain as a sensitive structure, at the intersection of wall sculpture and installation. Composed of individually formed units that are then linked together, the works are constructed through repetition, variation, and the tension of relationships.
Each element retains its singularity while contributing to a coherent whole, where intervals structure the balance of the composition. These works develop architectures of relations in which equilibrium emerges from the meticulous assembly of elements and the precision of the gesture.
