Ubuntu

The Ubuntu series questions how a form comes into being: does it exist through the singular element, or through the density of the relations that organize it? Composed of individually formed units assembled in concentration, the works are constructed through repetition, variation, and the balance of internal tensions.
Each element, restrained and autonomous, attains its full presence through its relationship with the others. The ensemble thus develops as a sensitive structure in which form emerges from the collective, within a dynamic of interdependence where the whole exceeds the sum of its parts.
The dense and radiant organization of the elements may evoke organic forms without engaging in literal representation. This precise and controlled structure produces a sculptural presence in which light reveals the relief, shadows, and depth of the whole.

Rooted in a contemporary sculptural approach to ceramics, the Ubuntu series explores porcelain as a relational material, where the repetition of the gesture and the precision of assembly give rise to architectures of relations founded on the collective, balance, and structural cohesion.
